Reclaiming Festivals that Celebrate Growth and Renewal - Inspirational Insight No. 63

Hey Quester’s, tonight is Beltane for those in the Southern Hemisphere, though many will celebrate Halloween, or possibly a bit of both. Most of the European festivals are based on seasons and while the harvest is in full swing in the Northern Hemisphere which suits Halloween, it’s spring in Australia, New Zealand and other nearby countries. Beltane is a spring fire festival that celebrates the fertility of the land, people and animals. The following day is spent in nature and includes dancing around the maypole and other spiritual practices.

It seems like these festivals are being reclaimed, many of course were absorbed by Christianity during the conversions – so they aren’t quite as lost as they seem (just slightly different names). With an upsurge in environmental care and sustainability it is easy to see that the land is no longer just something to walk on, but an active living world that needs our care. It is up to us to reclaim our lost heritage. So think about the meanings of Easter, Ostara,  Christmas and Yule, and make their meanings count a little more. Give your family less retail therapy and more spiritual guidance.

We live on this beautiful planet and it is our job to preserve it because we are the ones that have inflicted the damage. Our eyes are open now and the restoration begins, so reclaim those festivals that celebrate life on Earth and the lush green land. Let your children be fascinated by nature’s magnificence. Take them out of their city homes to spend time in peaceful natural environments.

For the millions that emigrated from Europe over the past 300 years – the connection to heritage is linked strongly between your ancestral country and the land you now call home. So light a sacred fire tonight and gather your feast – then wake up in the morning at spend the day celebrating new life and our pristine planet! It doesn’t matter what religion or spiritual beliefs you hold, we can all celebrate the glories of spring!

The Season of Activity - Inspirational Insight No. 62

Hey Quester’s, hope you’re planning is complete and you are ready to give your Quest an extra boost! In ten days it is spring in Australia and that means the senses are alive with fresh sights and smells! The last five weeks have been a bit rough with one beautiful soul leaving this earth and another very badly injured, (in two separate occurrences). But families and friends rally together in such times and do what they can in their own way to get through. Love and healing to all!

The season on renewal is here and this means growth, inspiration and activity. The scent of flowers lingers in the air, new buds are forming on the trees, and even your cells are undergoing change. We come from this earth and are made up of the many naturally occurring minerals and chemicals from our planet – this is why we feel that strong connection with natural environment and its many creatures. Spring brings vast empowerment to us and our personal quests, so get out there a do what you do best!

You may find it helpful to take your work outside if possible. Get a small trestle table to sit your laptop on, or take your crafting work outside, if that is not possible open curtains and windows and bring a plant indoors. Maybe a vase of fresh flowers will help. This is also the time when we do more relaxing and socializing outside, so get prepared with some weeding, trimming and mowing! If you have a vegetable garden start with your preparations, if you have room create one. Home grown fruit and Vegetables taste amazing. There is a lot of inspiration to be gained while tending the garden, for many this quite time is almost meditative. Go for a bush walk, listen to the sounds of nature and discover something new! The Quest develops while you are busy doing other things.

Rest, Comfort and Consolidation - Inspirational Insight No. 61

Hey Quester’s, how are you, hope you are showing the world your happy and confident nature? I’ve been fixing up a few half-finished projects – discipline is definitely the answer in getting those finished. More work to be done though! I find I’m very tired in the last few weeks so let’s think about whether or not we know how to read the signals that tell us to slow down.

We all have times when we want to retreat to the couch with a blanket, hot chocolate and a good book. Its winter in Australian and winter is designed to slow us down providing we are listening. A bit of rest, comfort and consolidation is needed in colder months or any other time your mind, body and soul is calling out to you. Parents know how to comfort tired or sick children, but often don’t pay enough attention to their own needs. If you need more sleep, go to bed earlier or take an afternoon nap. Maybe sit outside with a few blankets around you and watch nature’s glorious display, (nothing too taxing on the intellect).

The body is amazing but you can still work it too hard. Be kind to yourself by listening to those inner hints – the housework and other projects can wait. Try delegating if there are other capable people in your household. The world won’t end if you relinquish control for a few days. Give others a chance to show their kindness and leadership skills. In this time consolidate your thoughts and appreciate your place in the world. Rest and take comfort in small pleasures. You’ll know it times to get back to energetic or creative projects, but for now enjoy relaxation and simple joys.

Satisfaction in Steady Progress - Inspirational Insight No. 60

Hey Quester’s, hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season and getting prepared for a change in seasons. The start of any year flies by as we adjust to new changes or challenges at school, work or social settings. I have never stayed home so much as I prepared to launch an online business in two weeks. It’s been evolving for two years while I was finishing my university degree – which has its part in my new endeavour along with a creative hobby I started when I was sixteen. More on that soon! Wow, just realized this is my 60th Blog, (initially emailed). Thanks for visiting!
Achieving what you want as your Quest advances involves steady progress. That continued steam of dedication can definitely get you where you want to be. The desire to keep up that dedication sits deep in the heart and is assisted by the intellects drive to reach satisfaction. Why you're attracted to a certain interest could be somewhere in your genetic inheritance, or created by social or family influences when you were young, or depending on your beliefs you may have been born to pursue this purpose. Either way you have a strong desire to continue creating this new and inspiring world.
The personal Quest is not too tricky – it is just a matter of loving what you do and dealing with the unexpected. You will have goods days and the occasional bad ones to help you appreciate just what you have. Though generally you can deal with the situation and get on with life. A bit of personal strength will take you far. Congratulation!
