Cyclical Patterns that Govern Life - Inspirational Insight No.76

Hey Quester’s, as another year comes to an end, be happy about what you have achieved. There is only so much that you can do, so be thankful for the planning and progress. You may have to think back over the year to appreciate your creative and practical work. It has been a very hectic year for my family, after Christmas at our house we all need rest, relaxation and nature therapy. I started reading a novel yesterday and fell asleep twice in the first two pages. I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling a touch of exhaustion this year. I’ve devoted more time to family and business this year and not getting to my writing as much as I’d like, but it is easy to fix that over the holidays.

I’ve been thinking about the many cycles that govern our lives. People are subject to patterns and cycles just like any other living thing. The seasons dictate the basis for much of this, we are in a different mind-set in different seasons; our bodies know what is going on even if our minds are slower to comprehend. Those living a more natural existence away from the cities will be better attuned to these patterns. The stages of our lives are also great cycles of growth, understanding and wisdom. You could put childhood, the teen years, young adults, parenthood, the active middle and the slower years as six cycles. These cycles affect us differently; what applies to one stage of life may not apply to another. Don’t be surprised if something you used to love doing falls away in those hectic or difficult phases of life. If the desire is still there, it will be rekindled later. The ancient Celts and Europeans had a triple goddess to represent the female lifespan – maiden, mother and crone. A male version of this could be – youth, father and wizard.

Work with these stages, do not battle the natural callings to semi-hibernate in winter, to activate in spring, glory in the warmth of summer and soak in the calm magic of autumn. Breathe into these patterns and get them to invigorate your life and quest. Allow the full moon energy, early morning sunrise and still waters to be part of your intuitive journey. Partner yourself with nature, realise how precious this connection is. There are so many cycles that we experience, mixed with the blueprints of future endeavours.

Why Calm, Pleasant Surroundings are so Important for our Spiritual Well-Being - Inspirational Insight No.75

Hey Quester’s, today the rain is falling in my home town after forty four days of dry hot conditions. It does draw you out to stand in it, just for a minute.  I’m looking out the windows as the wind blows and the trees and plants replenish themselves. Australia is a vast country with various climates from the red centre to the green of the coast. There are fires in parts of Victoria, and a cyclone just passed through the top of Australia and New South Wales is building up to 40 degrees, even though it is autumn. Our surroundings are very important to us – stay safe if you are experiencing harsh natural events this weekend.

We are visual beings and we need the green energy of nature, even if we don’t fully understand how this affects us. This is why we feel so refreshed when we spend time outdoors. It is also vital to have calming colours and decor that is inspiring in our home environment, especially if you live in the city. Bring a plant inside or have a garden or trees outdoors, then open the doors and windows so nature’s energy can remove the stale air within. Depressing colours and unhealthy odours are not good in any home; the senses need an uplifting view. You could try some rearranging of furniture for a new perspective; something new to admire can be refreshing. Give your place a good clean and put a few vases of cut flowers or greenery in your house for some new aromas. Everyone is busy, but a few small changes can do wonders for the daily routine and energy levels.

What can you change or Improve in 2018? - Inspirational Insight No. 74

Hey Quester’s, here’s wishing you all the best for the holiday season! Hope you have some time off work to give that scattered mind and tired body a well-earned rest. Our family has had a difficult year, so we are planning on a peaceful and productive new year, with emotional healing and meditation. Strength, growth and peacefulness are certainly something to manifest is 2018.

If you could describe 2017 in five words what would they be? Would they be positive, joyous, productive and inspiring or lack lustre, negative and confusing? You have the power to make small changes or improvements if needed. You just have to focus on what you want; this could be done in meditation or contemplation, as long as there are no distractions, just you and your soul’s desires working together. Remember to write it down, a lot can be achieved with planning. No good idea made any real progress without, dedicated thought, persistence and a rough timeline. It’s just a piece of paper, but it has the power to manifest, if it is stuck on a wall or in your phone as a reminder!

Help others along in their Quest in 2018! Maybe you can see how to improve the lives of others with a few gentle suggestions. Sometimes people get stuck in a rut or lose sight of their goals, but it doesn’t take much of a conversation to see if that goal is still valid.

Wishing you the empowerment to manifest the best of your Quest in 2018!

Something to Look Forward to: Inspirational Insight No.73

Hey Quester’s, hope life’s being kind to you? It’s all been a bit off centre this year, still working on regaining some balance. I’m trying to help my children with their self-identity and confidence – strange how society wants to put everyone in neat little frameworks that do not allow for unique and beautiful differences. One day at a time and some warmth in the autumn sun should help. I’m also getting the kids to recite our family motto, something I wrote many years ago. Something to inspire and feel connected to! Why not create one for your family? Keep it short and to the point!

The Quest can be exciting and inspiring, though it can equally be arduous and lacklustre, so it’s always good to have something to look forward to! So if there isn’t an event looming on the horizon, create one! Grab your diary, pick a date or weekend one or two months away and start thinking of somewhere to go, or something to do. It’s not hard and most people generally have something planned, but if you are too attached to your routine life can become dull. It doesn’t need to be expensive; you could even go for a picnic at some amazing and peaceful location. Get up early and use the full day! We are a people that work hard for the things we have, why we shouldn’t break free of normality and have some fun!

Why Things Change When Words Hit Paper - Inspirational Insight No. 72

Hey Quester’s, hope you are well on this calm Monday morning. Monday is not a favourite day of the week for many, but maybe that is the challenge! Why not turn Monday into something more fulfilling. Be serene, majestic and productive, so Monday is no just a day to tolerate.

Give your personal quest a boost over the next few weeks by letting words develop into something substantial with purpose and direction. Release your energetic thoughts by writing them down, that way they can form into something with an ongoing future, something real. We are a people with so much going on in our minds that it’s a wonder we can achieve anything in daily life. Doing one thing, thinking another and a list of tasks to complete is no easy way to live. Distraction is probably one our humanities biggest impediments.

Help clear the mind; sit in front of your laptop, tablet or piece of paper and get out the good, bad, philosophical and inspirational (you might even find some answers). This empowers your thoughts, so they can stand on their own as something beautiful and worthy. This is something just for you, though it can emerge into so much more. Then you can decide how far it travels in your life and whether you want to share it. Can it be used for work, design, empathy, adventure, compassion or well-being? Make your thoughts, words and deeds count; good communication and planing are empowering!

Mother Guilt: Intention vs Reality - Inspirational Insight No.71

Hey Quester’s, how are you today? Well the kids are back to school and many mums and grandparents are probably feeling tired but rested by now. Hopefully mums that work inside and outside of the home are having some grown-up conversations. I’ve been sorting and organising and putting things away, but that often feels like an uphill battle! Still trying to get my children to understand that all their toys have their own home at the end of day, instead of them being health hazards on the floor! I’m not sure how they find their way out considering iPad's and laptops seem to be the main choice of fun these days! A work in progress I guess.

Mother guilt is an interesting topic that seems unnecessary in our lives, but something that needs to be discussed as you continue your Quest! It seems the majority of women have these thoughts or instincts that make them feel they have not done enough for their children. It’s that nagging mind message of the intentions you had for your children while they were very young. ‘I’m going to teach my children this, that and everything,’ but as time goes on some of these things are less obtainable for many reasons. Time is often at the top of this list and since there are only so many hours in a day, we can only do what’s humanly possible. The more children you have the harder it becomes to meet your intentions. Busy households can be like watching worker bees hurrying around with little rest.

But what about you, you govern your domain making everyone happy and have even less time to give to yourself. The mother, matriarch, goddess in you has passionate pursuits to fulfilled, suppressing theses diminishes the natural spark within. When you are happy the whole household shines and a lot more is achieved. Don’t suffer for outward appearances of what a woman should be. Be the person you are meant to be. Find the balance; even draw up a list of household chores – that teaches everyone that the house doesn’t magically appear clean, the pets don’t get fed by the invisible man and wonder woman doesn’t weed the garden (or maybe she does!).

Now seriously do you have enough time for yourself and how much is that. If it seems unfair can you calmly teach your wonderful children to be a little more self-sufficient? Yes this takes more time and patients, but it is worth it in the long run. Let your multi talking mind relax for the weekend, have some fun
!

Making Bold and Positive Moves in 2017 - Inspirational Insight No.70

Hey Quester’s, hope those in cold climates are keeping warm and those in warmer seasons are enjoying the sun. I’ve been busy taking photos of my Jewellery designs since the 1980’s, I might have another combined exhibition and fashion parade this year. My ‘Ancient Realms,’ Jewellery label that is mostly porcelain with ancient themes is twenty three years old, but I was designing with other my other labels ten years before that. Thirty three years is certainly something to celebrate. You know you’ve come full circle when your designs start showing up at the opportunity shop and still in good condition! Thanks to all those lovely girls and guys who appreciated and purchased my designs over the years. Might see if I can create an extra page for them somewhere (well the ones I have left). Working on some Viking, and Romantic Italian inspired designs in the new Autumn/Winter range.

This is a year where you throw off your old skin and do something bold! It’s a year of self-expression! Throw caution to the wind and do something different. You are still on your personal Quest, but you are adding a bit of pizazz! Removing fear of judgement is a great place to start; so many people are shackled by this. It’s your life and you make the decisions, you’ve come here to do something your passionate about and believe in – so get on with it! If you are having trouble figuring out what that is, try more exploring in nature, books, online, educational classes, meditation and contemplation. Don’t let money restrict your desires, look harder find a way through. Let your calm confidence and underused brain show you the way. Make sure there is time in your week to achieve your goals. Stand up and show the world you can do whatever you want. Get a few supportive people to talk to when you are having a bad day, then get up and start fresh tomorrow.

Remove the self-imposed limits – that time is over!
